Buwakan ni Alejandra is the newest attraction in Gaas, Balamban.

After Sirao Flower Garden (Sirao Mini Amsterdam), the newest tourist destination that Cebuanos is crazy about. Buwakan ni Alejandra officially opens last May 08, 2017. Buwakan means a bunch of flowers in plain English. A 50-minute travel time starting from JY Square Mall in Lahug, Cebu going to Barangay Gaas in Balamban. Visitors (Local or Tourists) will definitely enjoy more than 200 types of flowers.

Barangay Councilor Eleuterio Gentapa, 37 years of age, chairperson of the committee on tourism, and husband of the owner of the land where the Buwak ni Alejandra sits, was the landscape of the picturesque garden.

Who is Alejandra and Why is it called Buwakan ni Alejandra?

According to Sunstar a local newspaper in Cebu. They called it Buwakan ni Alejandra because you can really see flowers (Buwak) in the garden. Alejandra is actually Gentapa’s mother-in-law. The story of his mother-in-law had told them about an incident that happened during the Japanese occupation.

Buwakan ni Alejandra is opening all days of the week from 7 AM to 5 PM.

If you plan to visit Balamban this coming weekend, don’t forget to drop by this place. It’s a wonderful destination when you also love going to the mountainside and experiencing cool temperatures and the fog that creeps in at certain times of the day.
