This is the newest airport in Bohol Philippines. Located in Tiwala, Panglao, Bohol Philippines. Last November 27, 2018, officially opened in Panglao Island. The Bohol-Panglao International Airport was officially opened at exactly 4:00 in the afternoon start the programme and parade.
This airport is the replacement to the old Tagbilaran Airport in preparation of many tourists from local and international that will be going here especially the summer is near. Five years building this airport is worth to wait. This is just a start Bohol will rise soon and the economic growth will rise after the earthquake damage happened.
President Rodrigo Duterte was led to inaugurate the Airport and joined by transportation officials including DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade and CAAP Director General Capt. Jim Sydiongco. Our very own Governor Edgar Chatto, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat and National Development Authority Secretary Ernesto Pernia attended the inauguration rites.
Bohol-Panglao international airport is the first Eco-airport in the country. There are three Boholanos Pilot lead to land the airport namely; Air Asia Captain Primo Dagondon from Anda, First Officer Kristine Boniel from Bien Unido and our very own First Officer Jaja Jumamoy from Inabanga. This is the pride of Bohol that will make the history proud.
This airport was officially opened November 27, 2018, and at exactly 6:00 in the evening the Tagbilaran airport was officially closed all flights reroute to Bohol-Panglao International Airport. November 28, 2018, all flights are land to the new Airport.
This airport is very accessible to the tourist especially in Panglao Beaches and other tourist spots. I’m sure this place will be more lively and more establishments will be open soon. I’m very happy witnessing the opening of the airport and feeling proud that our place has an international airport. This is just a beginning that our place will be known internationally.
